Queensland Raceway will be accommodating people at the end of May until June 1st this year for a major event that will be all about displaying cars that are bound to impress people. It’s not just showcasing cars. The excitement factor is upped a notch with the high-performance vehicles going for demonstrations, a series of races, parades, speed trials, timed sprints, and a highlighted show and shine.
Those who have already confirmed in joining the said event are Allan Moffat’s Trans-Am Mustang, Norm Beechey’s Monaro GTS 350 (which won the 1970 Australian Touring Car Championship) and Jim Richards’ 1967 Mustang. Kevin Bartlett, two-time Australian driving champion, will be joining as a celebrity participant. Other big names who will be attending are Show & Shine with HSV, Mustang, Monaro, and American Muscle Car Club.
The timed sprints will compose of sixty Australian and American V8 muscle cars. As for the average speed time trials, you can expect to see 30 exotic sports cars such as Corvette, Jaguar, Lotus, and Porsche.
Jim Richards is one of the patrons and he’s expected to show his brand new Porsche GT 2, which has 252 horsepower, with the “Iseki” Porsche 956C sports car. The latter is a former Vern Schuppan All-Japan Sports Car Championship winner.
