American Idol judge has one of the fastest rides

November 5, 2007

Simon Cowell may not be everybody’s favorite American Idol judge but you’ll envy him once you find out that he owns the world’s most expensive and fastest street-legal car, the Bugatti Veyron. This amazing vehicle cost about £750,000, and can surely deliver, with a top speed of top speed of 253.81 mph. It is also capable of producing 1001 horsepower. This fast car is manufactured by Volkswagen AG subsidiary Bugatti Automobiles SAS.

Bugatti Veyron
Named after French racing driver Pierre Veyron, who won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1939 while racing for the original Bugatti firm, first sighting of this vehicle was in the Tokyo Motor Show. Back then it was the 1999 EB 18.4 “Veyron” concept car. It wasn’t until in 2005 that the production car was showcased at that year’s Tokyo Motor Show.
The Veyron is equipped with a W16 engine—16 cylinders in 4 banks of 4 cylinders. Its massive engine sums up to two narrow-angle V8 engines mated in a “W” configuration. For an intense feel of its speed and power, it features a dual-clutch DSG computer-controlled manual transmission with 7 gear ratios via shifter paddles behind the steering wheel and can also be driven by full automatic transmission.
One would be surprised that along its powerful engine the Veyron also has a total of 10 radiators: Three for the engine cooling system, one heat exchanger for the air to liquid intercoolers, two for the air conditioning system, one transmission oil radiator, one differential oil radiator, one engine oil radiator and one hydraulic oil radiator for the spoiler.

If any of you ever think about chasing Simon Cowell, you better think twice because when he’s in his Veyron, I doubt it if anyone can catch up to him.
